Set up your first form.
This guide covers installation, form creation, fields, multi-step layouts, shortcodes, emails, spam protection and submissions in Pearstec FlowBuilder Basic 1.0.7.
1. Install the plugin
Download the plugin ZIP after purchase. Do not unzip it before uploading to WordPress.
- Open PluginsIn your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New Plugin.
- Upload the ZIPSelect Upload Plugin, choose the Pearstec FlowBuilder Basic ZIP file, then click Install Now.
- Activate itClick Activate Plugin. You will then see FlowBuilder in the left WordPress menu.
2. Create a new form
Go to FlowBuilder, then Add New Form. Enter the form name, slug and optional description.
- Choose the statusSet the form to Active when you are ready to show it on your site.
- Choose form behaviourEnable Multi Tab Form for separate form categories. Enable Progress Percentage when visitors should see their progress through a longer form.
- Set the responseChoose the submit button text, success message and admin notification email address.
- Create FormClick Create Form. The plugin opens the form settings and builder screen.
3. Build tabs, steps and fields
Open your form from FlowBuilder, then All Forms. In Edit Form, choose Form Builder.
Tabs
Use tabs for separate paths such as Personal, Business or Existing Customer. Click Add New Tab and set its title, slug, description and status.
Steps
Each tab can contain steps. Add a clear title and subtitle, then place the relevant fields inside that step.
Fields
Click Add Field inside a step. Set the label, field name, type, width, placeholder and whether the field is required.
Options
Select Dropdown, Radio Buttons and Checkboxes allow you to add options. Give every option a label and value. You can set a default option.

4. Use conditional fields
Conditional logic controls whether a field appears based on a visitor's previous answer. Use a dropdown, radio button or checkbox field as the decision field.
- Create the selection fieldFor example, create a radio field called Service Type with options such as Consultation, Quote and Support.
- Add the field that should appear laterCreate the follow-up field in the correct step.
- Set its conditionChoose the controlling field, condition operator and matching option value. Save the form and test it on the front end.
5. Publish your form with a shortcode
Open FlowBuilder, then All Forms. The Shortcode column shows the code for each form. You can also find shortcodes at the top of the Edit Form screen.
Replace 1 with your form ID. Paste the shortcode into a WordPress Shortcode block, Elementor Shortcode widget or any page builder shortcode area.

6. Set up form emails
Each form has its own admin notification address. Set it inside the form's Form Settings tab under Admin Notification Email.
Admin notification
Enter the email address that should receive each form entry. This is ideal for your sales, support or administration inbox.
Customer acknowledgement
Tick Enable Customer Acknowledgement Email when the visitor should receive a confirmation after submitting the form.
For site-wide email wording and delivery options, open FlowBuilder, then Email Settings.
7. Protect forms with Google reCAPTCHA
Go to FlowBuilder, then Google reCAPTCHA. Create a reCAPTCHA site key and secret key in your Google reCAPTCHA account for the exact website domain where the form is shown.
- Enable reCAPTCHATurn on the setting and choose the supported reCAPTCHA version.
- Add the keysPaste the Site Key and Secret Key from Google, then save the settings.
- Test the formOpen the live page in a private browser window and submit a test entry.
8. View submissions and export CSV
Go to FlowBuilder, then Submissions to review entries received through your forms. Open a form's View Submissions link from All Forms for entries related to that form.
- Review entriesCheck the submitted fields and date from your WordPress dashboard.
- Export dataGo to FlowBuilder, then Export to download submissions as a CSV file for reporting, follow-up or record keeping.
- Keep data secureGive WordPress administrator access only to people who need to view form entries.
Frequently asked questions
Does Basic have a licence requirement?
No. Basic does not require a licence key or activation.
Can I create more than one form?
Yes. Create and manage forms from FlowBuilder, then All Forms.
Can I show different forms on different pages?
Yes. Every form has its own shortcode. Place the relevant shortcode on each page.
Why is my form not visible?
Check that the form status is Active, the shortcode uses the correct form ID, and the page has been updated or published.
Why am I not receiving emails?
Check the notification email address. Then test WordPress email delivery through an SMTP service if needed.
